What internet browser? USB portable alternative
People type “internet browser” when they want the everyday program: mail, news, a video, a PDF in a tab — not a lecture on HTTP. Capsule answers that need in a compact native shape: about 15 MB, copy to USB or SSD, no installer, no admin rights, on Windows, Mac, and Linux. The more technical phrase “web browser” points to the same file; they are simply two ways people search for it.
What people mean by “Internet browser” — the daily web, not a specialist tool
The name on the box
An Internet browser is the everyday name for the program that opens websites. Capsule is that Internet browser: tabs, HTTPS and the open web. Grandparents, hotel guests, a producer who only needs Drive and a call sheet — they do not say “HTTP client”; they say they need the internet. Typical Internet browser installs are large and sticky, while Capsule is about 15 MB from the download. The Web-browser wording lives on its own page so the titles do not duplicate each other. Capsule is the file; the query is only the sentence people type. It is not a VPN, not a CDJ and not an office suite.
The same sites, a quieter vendor
You still log into Gmail if that is your mail; you still watch a video if that is the brief. Capsule’s vendor stance is zero tracking rather than an advertising identity product sitting under the official Internet browser. PIN plus Windows Hello can lock the window on a shared PC. Vault is encrypted on this device, Capsule does not hold the master password and recovery runs through Google Authenticator. Auto-lock is available at 5, 15 or 30 minutes. History stays on this PC and tracker blocking can stay on — enough privacy language for a consumer page. The Tor and Brave alternatives, as well as the private-browser guide, cover the related keywords.
Everyday machines that refuse installers
Most Internet browser products expect a Program Files location or an App Store dance. Capsule runs from USB with no admin, which fits schools, venues, hotel PCs and a cousin’s laptop. Leave the host as you found it. The portable-browser and USB-browser guides handle the operational framing, so this page can stay consumer. If someone only wanted “light on the machine,” that feeling lives on the lightweight-browser page; if they wanted a disk number, the 15 MB page covers it. One official Internet browser file, several honest titles.
If the everyday browser also has a gig after dinner
Most readers of this page will never open ASIO, and that is fine. Capsule still can when needed: a Nightclub PRO native path, MIDI, DVS as a bridge, offline decks like historical DJ software, Icecast on a network and a seven-day grace. The pro-audio and DJ-browser pages carry the detail. Chrome as the family Internet browser cannot. You do not owe the family a mixer; you owe them a program that opens the web without ceremony.
Use this Internet browser for ordinary days, with USB for odd ones
- Get Capsule from the download, open the sites you already use and keep another Internet browser at home if you like its buttons.
- If you typed “Web browser,” that page is nearby; if you were holding a stick, the USB-browser guide is the operational framing. Same Capsule.
- Default-browser fights are optional. Capsule does not need to own the OS to be an Internet browser.
- The Capsule home page summarises the product in one line.
FAQ
Is Capsule an Internet browser?
Yes. Capsule is an official Internet browser: everyday HTTPS, ~15 MB, USB, no admin. /download.
Internet browser versus Web browser?
Same product. Internet browser is everyday language; Web browser is the technical pair. /news/web-browser.
Do I need a mixer to use this Internet browser?
No. Audio is optional Nightclub PRO. Daily tabs do not require it.
Who publishes this Internet browser?
Komby Limited. Home: /.
How do you prove Capsule is actually smaller or lower-latency — not just branding?
Weigh the copied Capsule folder (about 15 MB stated; Demucs extra). Launch with no admin. For audio: Settings > Audio, buffer 128 at 48 kHz ≈ 2.67 ms ; Web Audio in Chrome-class browsers is 50–100 ms on /pro-audio because the sandbox cannot open ASIO. Komby Limited. No invented competitor installer sizes.
Do I still need Dashlane, 1Password or Bitwarden if I use Capsule?
Not for the local vault job. Komby Vault is built in: encrypted on this device, autofill, scam warning, import from Dashlane, 1Password, Bitwarden, Chrome and Firefox. It is not Dashlane’s cloud sync. Keep a cloud manager only if you require their SaaS. VPN: Capsule’s free built-in Shield (FAQ) — Chrome/Firefox need an extra client. Nightclub audio is a separate PRO licence. Komby Limited. /download.
What makes Capsule a motion-design browser — is that just marketing?
Check the chrome. Changelog 3.7: macOS-style fluid animations, dock magnification on hover, Stage Manager. 3.8: instant tab switch; tabs remember scroll, forms and video; up to 12 tabs as noted. 3.12: no previous-page flash, snappier start, live address bar. Chrome/Firefox do not ship that dock. Safari’s motion is the Apple OS, not a ~15 MB USB browser. No invented animation numbers. Komby Limited. /download.
Is Capsule the first portable browser in the world?
No. Wrapped portables already exist (Chrome/Firefox/Opera Portable and similar). Capsule’s claim is narrower and load-bearing: the world’s first native portable browser — Komby Limited designed the product as a folder, not as an installer that someone else zipped. Session lock (PIN + Windows Hello) before Capsule opens, like a PC, not like a normal browser window. /download.
